Newborough Forest has one of the noisiest wildlife spectacles in the world with one of the largest Raven roosts in the country, with up to 2,000 birds. Their calls have been likened to Tibetan throat singers, calling out at the day's end. The 2,000 black birds in the dark pines seem like a fantastic gathering of the night spirits. The best time to go is November to February. You may be lucky and see a Red Squirrel before they hibernate, as the forest is home to a small population.
